Housing & Residential Education is able to support a limited number of graduate students in two housing locations: Lassonde Studios and Downtown Commons. Graduate students need to maintain continual enrollment throughout the academic year and summer.
Lassonde Studios is located in Central Lower Campus near the Student Life Center and Student Union. he building features cluster, loft, and pod style living options. Residents will be able to engage with a community of makers on the four themed maker lounges in the building. Lassonde Studios also features a 20,000-square-foot innovation space, where students can connect, test ideas and build prototypes. A meal plan is not required in this living area.
The Downtown Commons apartments include private bedrooms in Downtown 1 and shared bedrooms with a buyout option in Downtown 2; each space also includes a shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. Please note, these apartment communities are located in downtown Salt Lake City and not on the University of Utah campus. Individuals who live in these apartments are not required to have a meal plan, but may select one if they would like. Beginning Fall 2018, new reservations for graduate level students in these spaces will no longer be accepted.
