The HRE work request system is designed to give residents a direct line of communication with Facilities maintenance and custodial staff. Submitting a work request online is the best way to let our staff know that there is a problem that needs to be addressed in your room, apartment/suite, or building. Work requests go directly to our maintenance and custodial supervisors desks, where they are collected throughout the day.
You do not have to be home to have work done in your area. When you submit a work request, you authorize Facilities staff to enter your room or suite/apartment to do work. Due to our work load, we are not able to schedule appointments. Our staff will leave a door hanger alerting you of our entry to perform the work you requested. You can also check the status of your work request online to see if it has been completed.

Work Order Priorities
Our Facilities staff strives to complete work requests in a timely manner. However, we do prioritize work requests when necessary. For example, malfunctioning heat or air conditioning will take priority over smaller items, such as a broken dresser drawer. Health and safety issues always take priority. If you enter a request stating that your door or window will not lock, we will consider that a safety issue. If you enter a request stating that your toilet will not flush or your shower will not drain, we will consider that a health issue.
If you experience an emergency or extreme event such as a flood or fire, you should immediately call Housing & Residential Education at 801-587-2002. If you encounter such an event after business hours or on a weekend, please call the Peterson Heritage Center front desk at 801-587-2000.
