The Housing & Residential Education Alumni scholarship application opens on November 1, 2024! 

The Alumni Housing & Residential Education Scholarship provides three upper-division students (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) the opportunity to receive financial support toward the cost of on-campus housing within Housing & Residential Education (HRE) facilities for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

This scholarship, sponsored by the University of Utah Alumni Association, is an award for one Academic Year providing up to $10,000 in financial support to be applied toward a student’s housing costs. The scholarship can be applied toward any upper-division HRE housing location/room type based on the room selected by the student at the time of reservation.

The Chartwells Community In Action Scholarship application opens on January 14, 2025! 

The Chartwells Community in Action Scholarship provides emerging leaders with the opportunity to live on campus during their first year of college, with certain room and board expenses covered.  

The Chartwells Community in Action Scholarship includes: 

  • Value of a double room in Heritage Commons (Chapel Glen, Gateway Heights, Sage Point), applied to housing (rent) expense  
  • Value of the Swoop 21 meal plan 
  • Residence Hall Association (RHA) dues 
  • Housing application fee waiver for the 2025-2026 Academic Year 

Scholarship Eligibility 

  • Applicant must be an incoming first-year (freshman) student for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. 
  • Applicant must be enrolled in the University of Utah as a full-time student for the 2025-2026 Academic Year (at least 12 credit hours each semester). 
  • Awardee must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the University of Utah.

The Housing & Residential Education UFirst Credit Union Scholarship application opens January 14, 2025! 

The Housing & Residential Education UFirst Credit Union Housing Scholarship provides three incoming students (first-year or transfer) the opportunity to receive financial support towards the cost of on-campus housing within Housing & Residential Education facilities. 

This scholarship, sponsored by the UFirst Credit Union, is a one-year award providing $3,000 in financial support to be applied towards a student’s housing costs ($1,500 fall semester 2025, $1500 spring semester 2026). The scholarship can be applied toward any HRE housing location/room type based on the room selected by the student at the time of reservation. 

Scholarship Eligibility 

  • Applicant must be either an incoming first-year student or a transfer student for the 2025-2026 Academic Year 
  • Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Utah as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours per semester) 
  • Applicant must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the University of Utah
