Residential Outreach Coordinators
What is a Resident Outreach Coordinator (ROC)?
ROCs provide support in connection to campus resources as they navigate challenges in academics, emotional/mental health, basic needs/finances, and housing.
What do ROCs offer?
- Advocacy for residents navigating life and/or academic challenges
- Support for residents to advocate for themselves
- Connection to resources on campus and in housing
When to reach out to an ROC?
- Academics: Stressed about classes, feeling behind in courses, unsure how to communicate with faculty
- Finances: Struggling to pay for food, loss of scholarships, behind in tuition, change in familial support
- Mental Health: Struggling with anxiety, depression, and when feeling overwhelmed
- Social Conflicts: Navigating relationships, roommate concerns, lack of community on campus
What to expect during your meeting with an ROC?
- We will begin by reviewing your individual needs and concerns. Together, we’ll discuss various campus resources that can provide additional support and collaboratively create a personalized action plan outlining the steps you can take moving forward. Finally, we’ll schedule a follow-up to check in on your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your plan. We look forward to supporting you on your journey!
