Eligibility: Sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students.

Room Types: The U of U Apartments at Block 44 include studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments. Private bedrooms and shared bedrooms are available. Each apartment will hold between one to two students, depending on room types. Each apartment includes a shared kitchen, private or shared bathrooms, and a shared living room. Kitchens include a full-size refrigerator, microwave, sink, oven, stove, and a dishwasher.

Furnishings: Kitchen counter stools, a sectional, bed-frame, mattress, desk/nightstand, desk chair, and a chest of drawers are included.

Amenities: Amenities in U of U at Block 44 include: in-unit laundry (free), green space, community pool, community Pilates room and fitness center, basic cable, internet, and utilities. Garage parking is available for a projected $60/month (Note: Students interested in parking on campus will still need to purchase a parking permit through university Commuter Services). These apartments are located very close to the main campus at 380 South and 400 East, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are located close to light rail transit (TRAX) within the Block 44 apartment complex but are managed by Housing & Residential Education.

Staff and Student Support: U of U apartments (on floors 3, 4, 5, and 6) have three Community Managers and one Resident Director (all hired and employed through Housing & Residential Education at the University of Utah) who support U of U residents and provide opportunities to connect residents with campus life.

Downtown Commons 2

UPPERCLASS & GRADUATE HOUSING


Location: Downtown Commons 2 is located a few blocks from Downtown Commons 1, situated on 43 South and 400 East, near the heart of Salt Lake City. Nearby downtown happenings include; City Creek Mall, Temple Square, Harmon’s Grocery, and more. Campus is accessible by bus routes and TRAX light rail system. Students are able to use their student ID to ride the bus and TRAX light rail system at no additional charge. Private, gated parking (available on a limited basis and at an additional cost).

Description: The Downtown Commons 2 apartments include private, two-bedroom apartments. Residents will have their own *bedroom and a shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. Please note, these apartment communities are located in downtown Salt Lake City and not on the University of Utah campus. Lassonde Studios

UNDERGRADUATE & GRADUATE HOUSING


Location: In Central Lower Campus near the Student Life Center, Student Union, Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building as well as several other academic buildings.

Eligibility: First year through graduate students.

Description: Lassonde Studios opened in the Fall of 2016, and is home for 412 student entrepreneurs and innovators. This is a place where students from any major or year can “Live. Create. Launch.” The building features cluster, loft, and pod style living options.  Residents can engage with a community of makers on the four themed maker lounges in the building. Lassonde Studios also features a 20,000-square-foot innovation space, where students can connect, test ideas, build prototypes, launch companies and learn by doing. The engagement opportunities within this building are facilitated by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, an interdisciplinary division of the David Eccles School of Business. Eligibility: Upperclass and graduate students.

Description: Shoreline Ridge features two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments. Shoreline apartments offer full-size kitchens, private bedrooms, and spacious common areas. Shoreline is close to our dining center, student solar plaza, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and plenty of hiking trails out the backdoor. Marriott Honors Community

UPPERCLASS HOUSING


Location: On the East Side of Campus along Mario Cappecci Drive. Near the Student Life Center, Fort Douglas TRAX Stop, and Huntsman Arena.

Eligibility: Upperclass students enrolled in the Honors College.

Description: The Donna Garff Marriott Honors Residential Scholars Community (MHC) features apartment living for upperclass Honors students. The MHC apartments offer full-size kitchens, spacious common areas, and great views of campus and the Wasatch Mountains. The MHC is unique because it also includes classroom spaces, an Honors Market/Convenience Store, and a centralized front desk and mail room making it a great place to learn, socialize, and relax.  This building opened in 2012.  Residents are not required to select a meal plan, however many students select one for convenience. Officers Circle

UNDERGRADUATE HOUSING


Location: On the East Side of Campus within Heritage Commons. Near the Peterson Heritage Center, Shuttle Stop, Stillwell intramural field, and the Eccles Legacy Bridge.

Eligibility: First year (in some OC houses) and upperclass students.

Description: Officers Circle (OC) is a unique community comprised of 10 individual houses, most with a different academic or themed focus. There are 12 residents in each house, with the Kennecott House housing 13 residents.  All houses are mixed gender and feature large study/lounge spaces, front porches, and kitchens. The OC houses are close to the Peterson Heritage Center, including the dining room, shuttle stop, and Eccles Legacy Bridge making access to all of campus easy and convenient.   A meal plan is required in this living area, the lower level meal plan is available to residents.
